Only a small amount of all published books are in print for more than a few years. Most titles quickly become unavailable, new editions are never published, old not reprinted and remaining copies are sold outside the normal channels of distribution. Our books share another type of life-cycle.
Initially, new titles are published in small-volume editions that sell in a reasonable frame of time. Then the book is continiuously reprinted depending on market demands. This is a transparent process, i.e. the book is constantly available through all normal distribution channels such as book stores and online shops. Selected printing companies, analyzation of demand and optimization of distribution provides each book with a tailored product support that keeps it available principally unlimited in time. In addition, this form of support makes books even more flexible and versatile.
Knowledge is flowing, books are static media. This does not make old books obsolete but – since seldom if ever reviewed – they usually do not reflect any informative change that happened since they got into print. However, once such books begin to disappear, reference sources of information vanish as well. We take this into account by carefully selecting books that make it into our programme so that new titles build on old. This avoids or at least minimizes redundant content and allows for an ongoing evolution of a network of books reflecting the progress of information these books contain. Thus, supplement volumes usually represent the option of choice for publishing new editions of a book's initial edition. This becomes an ancestor and remains in print as all its descendent titles.
Books of highest quality available principally unlimited in time guarantee that information is both, constantly available and up-to-date in an accurate, dependably documented form. This directly ensures the availability of products, procedures, knowlege and important reference sources of information.
